So, you want to know all about Bitchfinder Genital do you? Well, what's to know... Um, I guess ('I' being 3Ply Stagliano) it wouldn't hurt to have a brief biography of the various people vaguely involved in Bitchfinder Genital , as well as the, ahem, band itself.

Bitchfinder Genital is a 'band' (of sorts) which has been about, in one form or another, since about 2003-ish.

At present anyway, it exists purely as a recording effort. Most of the music is put together and played by a single person (me) and that would put a bit of a damper on the prospect of playing live. If we could rope more people into it, playing live could be fun but I'm so dreadfully unpopular, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting.

Why Bitchfinder Genital as a name? You might have noticed the subtle pun in the name, nabbed from the film Witchfinder General. Just thought it's best to come clean and admit the shameless plagiarism (as if it could have been anything else). It's just silly. There's no misogynistic undertone in it. We're half woman ourselves for gawd's sake! Just be glad we didn't do a rude version of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang or The Count of Monte Christo. That could have been much worse.

So who are '3Ply Stagliano' and 'Cora Flange' and why on Earth did our parents give us such preposterous names? Remarkable as this may sound, those aren't our real names. We use them for 'silly band name' value. If you're ever in touch with us, we'll probably use our real (much less exciting) names.

3Ply Stagliano is me. I do most of the playing on Bitchfinder Genital stuff. If it's 'enthusiastically' played, it'll be me. I'll give most instruments a go but with varying degrees of success. I've played bass (last millennium) in a couple of bands which played a handful of gigs to less than a handful of people. Not exactly 'rock star' life.

Cora Flange is the lovely lady side of Bitchfinder Genital. Although she normally works behind the scenes (recording and placating me and my childish tantrums) she plays a bit of bass herself. She hasn't been playing on much yet but we hope to remedy that in the future. Eventually 3Ply Stagliano may get phased out altogether. 'Cora' stole her name from a film because it made us laugh. Do you know which film it is?

We have been recording tunes, in some form, since about 2003. Initially that was on a Tascam 424 tape four track recorder. As you would imagine, the recordings weren't so great then. That's not to say they're wonderful now but they have improved. A few years ago we bought a Korg D3200 thirty-two track digital recorder and it's a lot easier and better to use than the old tape four track was (bless it). The old Tascam is now 'out to stud' but, so far, no lady multitracks have shown any interest in him.

We do music for fun and stick it up online in the hope some other people might get some pleasure from it too. We're not deluded and know a lot of people probably won't like it or may even rather dislike it but we live in hope a small percentage of people do get some enjoyment from it. If you do like any of it, don't be shy in letting us know. We would be delighted to know we're bringing some tiny iota of joy into the lives of others. Happy listening!

The DP 492 SL may also be slightly more 'heavy duty' but that could be an optical illusion from having black parts).
